Claire McLean


Claire founded Realise HR 4 years ago after a very successful HR career over a variety of sectors. Claire started her career with the Royal Bank of Scotland in Edinburgh then progressed to HR management of small teams within global businesses before moving into HR Director roles where she focused on strategic people planning and building competent teams to support company growth. She has a passion for organisational effectiveness and the part people play in it. Claire’s superpowers include Transformation and change, People experience, HR Technology, Engagement and Company culture. To relax at the weekend Claire loves to travel and enjoys some good food.

Rebekah Neilson

Client Relationship Manager

Rebekah started her HR career in a large retail company and then made the leap over to recruitment. After a while Rebekah realised her true passion was in HR, focussing on creating a safe and comfortable place where people can enjoy coming to work. Her superpowers include social media and marketing, organisation and building great relationships. At the weekend you will probably find Rebekah enjoying a cocktail and the theatre or running after her two crazy nephews!

Helen Askew

People Partner

Helen has worked in workforce development and HR for 17 years. Helen’s passion is getting the best out of people and making sure they meet their true potential. Helen’s superpowers are diversity and inclusion and her ability to create a safe and fun atmosphere. Helen loves a nice gin on the weekend and entertaining guests with her hilarious stories and fantastic

Jean Gerrard

People Partner

Jean has a breadth of experience in both the public and private sectors, including Local Government, NHS, Housing Associations, Charities, Manufacturing, and the Motor Industry. Her passion is around company values being lived and breathed to deliver proper engagement, drive improvement, and create a healthy workplace culture. Jean’s superpowers are Listening – especially hearing (and seeing!) what is not said, and Empathy – a necessity in building relationships as well helping deal with those that have gone off the tracks. To recharge these superpowers, Jean loves nothing more than a brisk walk with her crazy hound (no, not her pet name for her other half!), and partaking in a bit of locally sourced, good food.

Lorraine Millican

People Systems Partner

Lorraine has 30+ years in system development and support under her belt. Lorraine also joined has been part of her family business where she was responsible for HR, Finance, business legislation and IT for our 25 staff. Lorraine’s superpowers include creating policies, GDPR, delivering training and of course she is an IT superstar. Lorraine loves walking and exploring the lovely scenery of Cumbria.

Julie Williams

People Partner

With two decades of experience within one of the UK’s most respected co-owned business, the John Lewis Partnership, Julie worked across a range of disciplines including Operational Leadership, HR and latterly as an Independent Business Partner. During this time Julie successfully delivered major employee engagement strategies of which the impact showed year on year improvements in both survey results and key business KPIs and most of the employee experience. Julie’s superpowers are enhancing the employee experience, supporting teams to help develop their work and creating a company culture to be proud of. Julie loves exploring the great outdoors with her family along with enjoying a nice glass of wine and some good food.
